Thought for the End of the Week

Today is Saturday and here I am at the office accomplishing a few things for tomorrow. I praise the Lord for the week that has been and look forward to the week that will be. My hope and prayer is that God has revealed more of Himself to you so that you may delight more in Him. C.S. Lewis gave a great depiction of how God reveals more and more of Himself to us as Lucy talks to the great lion Aslan (the Christ figure) in the book Prince Caspian.

The great beast rolled over on his side so that Lucy fell,
half sitting and half lying between his front paws. He bent
forward and just touched her nose with his tongue. His warm
breath came all round her. She gazed up into the large wise face.
"Welcome, child," he said.
"Aslan," said Lucy, "you're bigger."
"That is because you are older, little one," he answered.
"Not because you are?"
"I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger."

This reminds me that "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" was picked up by 20th Century Fox last week, after Disney ended the relationship with the Narnia films. "Voyage" is due December 2010.

The best part about the news is that Michael Apted will direct, not the other fellow, who intentionally took away some of the Christian themes and dialogue found in the books. Apted directed "Amazing Grace", the film on William Wilberforce and John Newton two years ago. Should be an excellent film.
