Days of Disney (Part 1)

Disneyland is the original themepark design of Walt Disney's elaborate imagination. It includes two separate parks - Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Over the course of three days we journeyed through each corridor and took in every intricate detail of this magical place. I have been to both parks before, and yet seeing the place through the eyes of my children awakened a sense of wonder that seems to have been in hibernation since my own childhood. To draw from a Disney film, the experience feels like a trip to Neverland where children never grow old and imagination never has to cease. The pictures I am sharing today come from our visit to the newer park - California Adventures. The rides and attractions found here are a mixture of elements from feature films and original ideas. California Screamin' and Toy Story Mania are two of my personal favorites while Ethan enjoyed Muppet's 3D and Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. Summer made sure that we all had a seat for the Pixar Play Parade and even Abigail seemed to enjoy the colorful characters who marched down the plaza square. There was so much to do that one day could not do this place justice, but we made the most of the time and collected a great assortment of memories.

Shepherds Conference

For many people rest is defined as an extended appointment with their recliner. Others take rest to mean a hobby like golf or hunting. For me, rest is the Shepherd's Conference. Held every year on the campus of Grace Community Church in sunny, southern California, this conference brings together pastors and church leaders for a time of relaxation and fellowship. There is teaching from some of the world's best Bible expositors and plenty of seminars to answer those ever perplexing problems of ministry. In addition to feeding the soul, the body is nourished through a never ending buffet of goods served by the friendliest staff. For three days I had the opportunity to break from ministering to others and have others pour ministry into me. It was wonderful. Here are a few pictures from those rewarding days.
